The starting point is understanding what the client wants to achieve. Whether that is maintaing an established shape, bringing a tired hedge back into proportion, or creating something more considered.
Sharp Hedges
I had a bit of extra time at this hedge, so figured I would entertain myself by trimming the business into it.
Ficus tuffi
Not something I am asked to do every day, but this client wanted their top edge to be rounded off rather than square.
Podocarpus columns
These columns stand tall lining the outside of this Parnell hotel, with Ficus tuffi as a backdrop.

Part way through shaping this Olive at a school I have maintained since 2017.

These pillars add a nice touch to this boundary in Birkenhead Point. Breaking them up rather than a solid wall.

An interesting combination of Teucrium and Corokia actually work beautifully on this driveway.

This Lillipilli in Pt Chevalier has a subtle beveled edge giving a very tidy top.
Devonport
Lillipilli and Ficus surrounding this pool in Devonport provide a subtle privacy screen without being too overwhelming.
